Winter Party Plans for 4th Grade
We will be hosting a Winter Theme Party for 4th Grade. We plan on breaking the kids up into 5 groups of 6 which will rotate to the different stations for about 10 minutes per station. Then the last 10 minutes of the party we will clean up while the kids are given a word search or a parent reads a story.
Station 1 – Craft: Photo Booth
Take a photo of each kid outside in the hallway against a light blue tablecloth backdrop with snowflakes on it. We will use props on a stick that the kids can hold and get creative with. Once their individual photo is taken we can do group shots. Mindy will provide us with the prop file and each room parent will need to print them out on cardstock, cut them out and attach a bamboo stick. We will process the photos over winter break.
*Needed Supplies: camera, tablecloth, snowflakes, props, bamboo sticks and tape.
Station 2 - Craft: Photo Frame
Take a pre-cut white cardstock photo frame (purchased in bulk from Michaels) and add foam stickers to it. Room parents will take these frames home after the party and add the photo to it over winter break.
*Needed Supplies: white photo frame, foam stickers, clear tape for assembling photo to frame.
Station 3 – Craft: Coffee Filter Snowflakes
Fold coffee filter into a small triangle shape and cut a few sections out of it. Add a few dots of food coloring then unfold to see your snowflake. Add a string to the top so they can possibly be hung from the ceiling in the classroom for a winter theme in January. Meredith will practice with the food coloring and if it’s too hard or messy we will leave the snowflakes white. Amanda will check to see if she has a supply of coffee filters she can donate.
*Needed Supplies: coffee filters, scissors, string, plastic tablecloth and gloves if we use food coloring.
Station 4 – Game: Guess Who/What
Write winter theme words on index cards and tape one to each kids back. They have to ask for clues to guess who or what they are. For example: snowflake, snow, ice, hat, gloves, scarf, coat, boots, snowman, snow fort, shovel etc.
*Needed Supplies: 15-20 index cards and tape.
Station 5 - Food:
Donated by the PTA. We should be hearing shortly on what the food is. At this point I have heard its some type of cookie. For drinks the kids will use their own water bottles they bring to school every day.
*Needed Supplies: Napkins
The PTA allows $2/kid per party for reimbursement expense. Be sure to take your tax-exempt for when making purchases and save all receipts. Please have your reimbursement forms (found online) to me within one week of the party – backpack mail Erin Howell 4P. I will keep track of each classrooms expenses. If your class has money left over after the spring party you can use that remaining money toward your raffle basket.
Now is the time to get your winter party volunteers so if you haven’t sent out your volunteer letters for the room parties, please do so. Then work with your co-room parent to determine what each person will bring/buy from the list of supplies needed.
Please feel free to share this with your teachers and let me know if you have any questions.
